Syllable Tap

Tap out the beats (syllables) in a word to slow it down and say each part clearly.

  1. Say the word and tap one circle for each beat.
  2. Tap Clap it to hear the beats paced out for you.
  3. Add your own words in settings with hyphens, like but-ter-fly.
Coaching tips for grown-ups

Say: Let us tap the word. One tap for each beat: but... ter... fly.

Watch for: One tap per beat, steady and even. Slow is good.

Stop when: Stop after a few smooth words, or when attention starts to fade.

Make it easier: Tap Clap it first so your child can copy the rhythm.

Make it harder: Try a longer word, or tap the beats without saying it out loud first.

Tip: tap the gear in the top right anytime for parent settings.
