Add a word ladder

Build from a small sound or word up to a useful phrase. Example: up / up up / pick me up. Two to four steps works best.

Voice

Build-a-Word uses your device's voice to say each step. The Sound Slider is the tool that uses the recorded sounds.

Build-a-Word

Climb from a small word up to a useful phrase, hearing each step. It builds toward longer, functional speech.

  1. Tap Build it to climb the ladder one step at a time.
  2. Tap any step to hear just that part again.
  3. Add your own ladders in settings, like up / up up / pick me up.
Coaching tips for grown-ups

Say: Let us build it. First up... now up up... now pick me up.

Watch for: Each step said clearly before climbing to the next one.

Stop when: Stop at the top with a win, or sooner if it is getting hard.

Make it easier: Stay on the first one or two rungs and repeat them together.

Make it harder: Start at the bottom and climb all the way to the full phrase in one go.

Tip: tap the gear in the top right anytime for parent settings.
